Breakfasts: It's Not Just for Breakfast Anymore
Tests done in 1996 concluded that, with enough hardware, a typical American breakfast can be converted to a full day's supply of breakfast shots. Henceforth, breakfast is now often consumed 24-hours a day in the Los angeles and the trend is spreading . The American breakfast is often altered in other countries, due to the presence of locally grown grains. These are also available (SEE healthy breakfasts here)This growing trend was capitalized upon by a former Chil Fiend who tempted Angelinas and Angelnos with an insane array of 300 breakfasts More

REVIEWS Scott C. 3/20/2012 ***** PORTER RANCH, CA Great place for breakfast and lunch. Salads are amazing and very big, the tea is great as well.
REVIEWS Ryan R.2/29/2012 ***** South Los Angeles, Los Angeles, CA Came here with a friend for brunch and we were seated outside after waiting for 15 minutes in the beautiful Santa Monica sunshine. We were very hungry so we ordered right away and after searching through Yelp I decided to try the egg and chili combo. I can't remember exactly what chili I selected but I think it was the second from the top on the back page. Anyways, it was very tasty (not as spicy as I was expecting from the menu ratings) and I really enjoyed it being paired with the omelette. It also came with toast as well which I enjoyed with the blackberry jam they had there. In addition, we both ordered glasses of orange juice and it was very tasty as well as it must have been freshly squeezed which unfortunately is hard to come by these days. Overall, this restaurant is one of my favorites for breakfast in Los Angeles and will definitely be going back soon!
Was in California for a Job interview and spent a couple days with my Brother in Sherman Oaks, was taking me to all the little food places in and around him. :) First time there and it was some great food, nice enviroment. Of course these types of places dont have tons of parking, so either Street and pay or find a spot in the little parking lot with the other businesses .. Definitely worth it though :)
REVIEWS Kate M. 1/24/2012 ***** Montréal, QC Cute place with very friendly servers. I had the Santa Fe Scramble and all I can say is WOW. Perfect balance of veggies, eggs and chorizo, with the very inventive and great addition of corn tortilla strips for a little crunch! I was skeptical about the pea guacamole since I'm not a huge fan of peas, but it was delicious and seasoned just right! I loved it so much I tried to go back the next day and the day after, but they had lost power. I am definitely going back for more as soon as I can!
REVIEWSBeth V. 1/17/2012 ***** Los Angeles, CA Jinky's is my favorite brunch in LA. ALWAYS worth braving the 3rd Street Promenade mess on the weekends. You can almost always find parking in one of the garages on 2nd street, even on a busy day. As for the restaurant, there may be a slight wait, but it's never been outrageous for me. Just remember, they won't sit incomplete parties! I love Jinky's Favorite omelet, and ANY of the Mexican breakfast items (breakfast quesadila!). Their breakfast potatos are always awesome, and I love their chilis (you can ask for a sample too). I've also thoroughly enjoyed all of the lunch items I have tried. Basically, I would eat here every day if I could. Definitely try it!
REVIEWSSelf O. 1/8/2012 ***** Van Nuys, CA It's known as a breakfast place, but I like it very much for dinner. The tandoori chicken salad is really good.
REVIEWS Matthew V.1/1/2012 **** North Hollywood, CA I originally would stop by to grab coffee but then later tried their breakfast and then became a fan of their food. The attraction was the selection of breakfast items that seemed to be influenced based on Mexican cuisine.
Jinkys make a good breakfast burrito called the Desperado that contains ortega chilies, cheddar cheese, chopped potatoes, chicken chorizo, and scrambled eggs. The burrito is served with side of guacamole and sour cream.
The Santa Fe scramble is a tasty egg scramble dish containing diced green onions, tomatoes, cilantro, corn tortilla strip, and topped with melted cheddar cheese. The food portion is large so bring an appetite if you do order this dish.
Another great breakfast is the Chili Jumble which is an egg scramble topped with your choice of gourmet chili, red onions, avocado and cheddar cheese served over potatoes. The dish is food heaven.
Jinky's has a large breakfast menu including: waffles, Eggs benedict, crepes, omelets, pancakes, lox plates, and much more. Drop by sometime for one of the better places that serves breakfast in LA.
REVIEWS Lisa J. 12/11/2011 **** Van Nuys, CA Fantastic! Great food, good service, wide variety What more could you ask for? Added bonus: they have a few Quinoa dishes on the menu. Quinoa is great for breast feeding mamas (helps with the supply) and has many health benefits in general. It's not something you see at restaurants too often though.
REVIEWSAdam A. 11/23/2011 ***** Toluca Lake, CA This is one of my favorite places to have breakfast. The omelets are large and the pumpkin pancakes are delicious. I usually sit at the counter and get a polite, friendly and tall red-headed server. You get served a thermos of hot coffee so you can refill yourself for only $2.75. I like this because no one goes around refilling my cup and changing the mixture of cream and sugar I have already prepared. The food always comes out quick. The food runner is always amiable and helpful. The busboy always comes over to say hello. These guys are always nice. I recommend it to anyone looking for a pleasant and comfortable place to get breakfast in the area.
REVIEWS caroline m.10/8/2011 *****Studio City, CA Love the Sherman oaks salad with chicken! It's yummy
REVIEWSJulian C. 8/1/2011***** I'm here just shaking my head at the occasional unhappy loser who actually has the time and the gall to come here to write mean, vicious, prejudicial and personal attacks about Jinky's food quality and its great staff. (Btw, this person is actually violating Yelp's guidelines and the post should be deleted) Nope, no one is paying me, I'm doing this just out of principle and out of loyalty to a wonderful place that has been a pleasure to frequent for over a decade now. I'm just motivated by keeping the record straight and by the pleasure I derive from putting a sock in the mouths of those spreading injustice and lies with their sadly vilified sputtering pie-holes. Let me put it succinctly... After 10 years-plus being a happy customer, Jinky's -Sherman Oaks- continues to prove itself as a renowned Breakfast/Lunch spot not only in the Valley but -by now- in the whole of LA. I'm talking about 2 decades plus of undeniable, award winning praise.
REVIEWS 7/24/2011 ***** mimi w. Beverly Hills, CA Jinky's s not you ordinary cafe. The food is always great. The portions are large. You can share an omelet and an order of pancakes with two other people and you will leave full and your tummy will be oh so happy.
The food always comes to the table hot and ready to eat. Sometimes, on the weekends there is a wait for a table, but it is always worth the wait. I have recommended Jinky's to many of my friends and they all have become repeat customers.
Some of the great same staff (waitresses, cooks, manager) still work there... They work incredibly hard and I know for a fact they are happiest when they can run smoothly and please everybody... but as it is in any busy and very successful restaurant. So anyway and like I said, anyone who's really been a regular customer can testify that this is a great and experienced staff (mostly handled by the wonderful Jinky girls) who should get triple credit for efficiency, especially on busy weekends... (did you see the awards on the walls?) while still managing to treat you with good conversation, no question humor.. and class.
So many famous actors come here! After all I've seen the likes of Alec Badwin, Pink, The Game, the girl from "Married with Children" what's her name?, Tony Braxton, Keifer Sutherland, Jessica Simpson, Flavor Flave, David Hasselhoff, (Justin Timberlake goes to the Sunset location I hear) come back again and again... and recently the new guy from Superman, to name just a few. Love to gorgeous Joanna, Jenniffer, Cynthia, Sara, Wendy, Isabel, Elizabeth and the cool dudes Micky, Jake, Raul, Pedro, Jimmy, Isaac and the rest of the staff... you guys make me feel great... you are BOMB! ;-)
REVIEWS 2/24/2011 ***** Whitney M.Los Angeles, CA I love this place. My friend and I like to call it home of the one dollar mimosas, of course that requires 13 mimosa's minimium but that's ok with us!! :) Seriously, the staff is great, hilarious, and friendly, and I like all of the food and the coffee is great! They also have free wireless internet, which they should advertise more. I love coming here for breakfast/brunch.
