One of my favorite breakfast places all time!!! Their omelette is amazing and huge enough for two. My wife and I went here after a bike ride from Beverly Hills. We ordered Chili Supreme Omelette with potatoes. It was delicious. The chili omelette was made with East Indian chili that with ground chicken. The potatoes were sautéed to perfection with spices. My one

I have passed by this place so many times and not even noticed it. Wish I had seen it sooner. There breakfast menu is large. They have everything from scrambles to crepes. They also have healthy options. You can sub regular pancakes for gluten free ones. Love it!

My friends and I were not impressed at all with the customer service here. We had decided to try this place out since one of my friends had been to the thousand oaks location and had a good experience at that location. We put our name in and were told it would be a 35 min wait. Since we were so close to 3rd street prominade we decided to walk a bit rather than stand in front staring at others while they ate their food. My friend called them about 20 minutes in to our wait time to ask if we were called and the hostess that answered put her on hold for a while after she asked the question. The hostess gets back on the phone and told my friend she didnt know if we were called. Hello? Dont they cross off the names on the list? So we walked back to jinkys right after that call since we were so close by. When we got there we were told that they called us a while ago and that we should've never walked away. My friend looked at the list of names and noticed her name was not crossed off at all. So they lied to us and most definitely hadnt called us! Damn biatches! why didnt they tell us this when my friend called??? Horrible customer service and the place is way too small for this location. So guess we were better off not eating here and wound up eating at loteria grill on 3rd street. Waaay better service and very nice and respectful staff at loteria. See my other review for loteria. Jinkys in santa monica, huge fail, cause it would've been the first time 2 of us would've eaten at this location. I do not recommend this place. Zero stars!

Always looking for new places for lunch, and this was the first time trying this place. First, breakfast anytime is awesome! I didn't order it, but my friends did. The food was solid, and the service was actually really good. The place is bigger than I thought it would be, plus they have outdoor seating (always a plus at the beach). More like a 3.5. Would definitely go back.

This is regarding the HORRIBLE customer service. My friends and I did not dine there due to the inept (un)hostess. Upon arrival, on Sunday, I checked my group in, 3 adults and 2 children. They quoted a wait of 35 minutes, not terrible considering it was Sunday at 11AM.
To pass time we walked around, in close proximity. When it neared the 35 minute mark, (about 20 minutes), I called to see how much longer thewait was, or if perhaps my name was called. I was placed on hold for waaaay to long, for such a simple question.

I had Easter Brunch here with some buddies from college as it was a place that didn't take reservations and we were late to plan the brunch. I wasn't over the top about the pancakes or bacon I got but the atmosphere was nice. Wait took awhile but that was more than understandable as we were a large group on Easter Sunday. The food just wasn't great for me, the rest of everything was fine. I am giving it a 3 instead of a 2 though, because my friends did enjoy their food for the most part.

I am in love with the pumpkin pancakes at Jinky's. We normally go to the location in Sherman Oaks, but my daughter and I made this a destination when we spent the day in Santa Monica.
We were seated quickly by a very friendly host, and the waitress greeted us right away to take our drink order.
We ordered the pumpkin pancakes, 2 eggs, and 2 bacon to share- there is a lot of food, enough for my daughter and me to share...

This is sort of a mixed review. The food was great both times I've been there but the service is horrible. If you are okay with bad service the food is definitely worth while. 1 star for service and 5 stars for food. If I go back and the service changes, I will update my review.

Tasty and filling. I had the turkey triple decker. Service was mediocre, but they accommodated me well enough. This place gets away with a lot due to the amount if tourist that come in and out. Mornings can get a bit busy. Overall, I prefer the Jinkys in studio city.

A ton of options on the menu. Came here for Sunday brunch and was not disappointed. We will definitely be back to try more items in the future. My boyfriend had the Huevos Chili with the El Paso Chili and loved it. I had the make-your-own flatbread pizza. Both were really good and they were big portions.

This is my go to breakfast spot when I want to get seated quickly and wanna meet up with friends. We sit forever and chat over good food...never pushed out to leave. Awesome cranberry and walnut while wheat pancakes. Good service...& bottomless mimosas...all day! Need I say more???

Just had to use my $10 for $20 Living Social. Wish I had bought a ton! I'm a SM local and never think of Jinky's, but the food was great, portions were large, and there were a ton of healthy options. They also have soy milk!
I got the Italian breakfast sandwich with egg whites, spinach, and goat cheese instead of mozzarella. On sourdough. Side of tater tots. Yum!! I also ordered the short stack of the oaty oat pancakes (oatmeal, oat bran, and wheat) to go to meet my $20. Haven't tried, but I am sure they will be great.
Sat outside on the small patio and made use of the free wifi.

I'm a lover of their GLUTEN FREE pancakes. SO GOOD.
They also have pure maple syrup and honey on request.
Their menu has a ton of options and even many vegetarian and gluten options.
We'll be returning. We just parked in the neighborhood behind the place. Simple.
I love it....can't wait to go back.

This place is great! The bananas foster pancakes are the best! A must try! My kids love the crepes. We have been here for breakfast, lunch and dinner and have never been disappointed. The menu is really extensive. So much to try but its really difficult for me to venture off their breakfast menu. Its so good! The staff has always been super nice too!
The decor of the cafe is really comfortable. It looks like a home. I love the flooring and the patio is really nice too. They have outdoor heaters that help if it gets a little cold outside.

We got the Sherman oaks Omelette. So far so good! Mixture of mushrooms spinach and garlic. Very basic yet healthy! they also have bottled beers for $2 which in LA is a miracle. So yes love this place!

Tina was amazing ! The service truly is outstanding ! The location is a bit small for all of the traffic that come in on a daily . That's why I gave four however everything is was so good . The food was hot til the last drop. They allow you to enjoy your time without rushing you . I am now looking forward to trying all of the locations. I can't wait!

I chose this restaurant based on the positive reviews in TA. My teenaged kids and I were not disappointed. The menu offers unique combinations, for example egg-white omelet with Boursin cheese. Fantastic. I found the opening time of 7:30am a bit late for a restaurant specializing in breakfast. The place gets quite full by 8:30am.

Great breakfast in Santa Monica! We travelled from Hollywood to have breakfast here. What a great decision! The service was excellent, and the food was even better! They gave us a complimentary taste of the 6 different types of chilli that were on the menu for the morning, and then the meals were delivered quite fast considering the place was packed! The meals were HUGE, and despite our best efforts, none of us finished them. Very reasonably priced. Would definitely call in again if we weren't on our way back to Australia...

I have been eating here on a pretty regular basis in the past few months, espeially for breakfast. I like the casual environment, the food ranges from good to great (get the pancackes, or the huevos con pollo [order it with a flour tortilla]). The prices are not cheap but reasonable (only thing that keeps me from giving it 5 stars) and the service is efficient. Consistent restaurant, I don't think you'll be disappointed...

You know what makes good food taste better? Great service! And that's exactly what I got today.
I was at Jinky's Cafe this afternoon with a large group of women for brunch. I had a delicious cobb salad, but the person sitting across from me had pancakes. As I stuck the fork with lettuce, avocado, chicken, egg, etc. in my mouth, I wished it was carbs. Specifically, in the form of the fluffy buttermilk pancakes dripping with syrup that was on a friends plate (can you tell I love bread/ carbs??!!).
The food was good, and the service was even better. Chris was the waiter for our tables, and he was fantastic. He was personable, funny, and quite charming.

This really is a cute place to come and dine at with friends or family members. The service was excellent and the place was bright and clean.
I ordered a hot chocolate and asked if it was made with milk or water and was reassured that it was made with milk. When it arrived, I had to take a photo of this magnificent creation and post it on yelp. It was just okay but could have used a bit more milk and a lot more cocoa for flavoring. It wasn't bad but needed a bit more flavor to quench my taste buds.
We ordered the kids pancake breakfast which was super cute because the pancake was shaped like Mickey Mouse. Awwwww....My niece (who is only two years old) loved it and as long as she was happy, I was happy! Unhappy toddlers can do some serious damage to your eardrums!
I ordered a Belgian Waffle and some turkey bacon. The bacon was perfect, not greasy at all. The waffle was good but not the best that I've ever had.
Overall, I really liked this place and was happy with my experience. However, I had this nagging voice in the back of my mind telling me that there could have been a bit more flavoring in the hot cocoa and waffle.
I definitely think that Jinky's is a place that you should check out for yourself and form your own opinion of this establishment. I'm not in the Santa Monica area very often but I will come back to this place again because it's definitely worth another try. It's conveniently located just down the street from the Santa Monica Pier so it's actually in a prime location.

Came here for breakfast a few times. Service was pretty fast, and we got seated quickly. Got the huevos con pollo with chili, nothing special to rave about and pretty standard fare. Pricing is ok, portions are pretty decent. An ok breakfast joint, although nothing to keep me from trying someplace else.

Cute little brunch place near the beach and 3rd street promenade. Came here on a Monday with a group of 6. There was no wait, and we were seated promptly. The food was very good, but -1 star for the price, it was a little overpriced for what they serve. But what can you expect for a place close to the beach and shopping?
I got the 2+2+2, with the flaky French toast. The French toast was amazing. That was worth the extra $1. I just wish that you didn't have to pay an extra $1 for real maple syrup. Ordered the bacon extra crispy. My husband got the Santa Fe omelette, and it was huge. It came with 2 corn tortillas, pea guacamole, and sour cream. I tried the pea guacamole and it was so interesting! It tasted slightly different from regular guacamole and had a little kick to it. My dad got the all American sandwich, and again the serving was huge.
Overall my family enjoyed our breakfast. The service was very good. The waitress came to check on us frequently and made sure our coffee pot was always full. Looking forward to coming here again next time we visit Santa Monica.

Always fast and friendly service. I have had breakfast here: omelettes, which come with their country potatoes, which I love love love. I have had salads, which are just ok and then I have had their chili. They are always willing to give you samples, and that's always nice. It's a casual setting, nothing fancy, but consistently tasty.

The breakfast food here is extremely good. The egg whites scrambled around fresh ingredients with wheat toast are to die for. The fun beach themed interior is great and the staff are nice. Reminded me of San Diego beach culture mostly.

Hidden treasure people, hidden treasure.
After a 40-minute ride in traffic, followed by a drive through two full parking lots, I (finally) made it to Jinky's Cafe on 2nd street and Broadway in Santa Monica, California. Fortunately for the sake of the restaurant (and the review) we didn't have to wait in line upon entering. Based on the ambiance of the restaurant and the diversity in the menu, I had a feeling breakfast would be worth the trek. Well, not only was I right, I was very pleasantly surprised with the deliciousness of this entire meal.
The photo itself (see above) pretty much speaks for the decor of the restaurant, as well as the creativity in the menu. According to the blurb at the beginning of the menu (see below), the food is a "fusion of American, Southwestern, and international flavors." It is this fusion which generates a delicious breakfast at Jinky's Cafe.
When checking out the menu and attempting to choose from one of the 15 PANCAKE-OPTIONS (Jinky's automatically gets major brownie - er, pancake - points for this alone), there were a couple of major pros I wanted to first point-out.
First of all, Jinky's has pancake-options I have never seen before (i.e. Tropical Pancakes, Oaty Oaty Cakes, and Caramel Creme Pancakes). Between the creativity of the menu and the hippie coloring along the border, this read more like a menu of pancakes from Ben & Jerry. Uh, yes please!
Secondly, and major props to Jinky's for this: per the menu above, the option to choose the location of your toppings ("Fruits inside the batter only on request") is a major pro, and almost makes your breakfast customizable. This is a fantastic option, particularly if you're a blogger, but also equally wonderful if you're simply a pancake-lover. Now for the best part. Choosing my meal and enjoying every bite!
Besides pancakes, I was craving eggs as well - it was a long drive! - and luckily, Jinky's caters to such cravings. I went with the 2+2+2 option of eggs, bacon, and buttermilk pancakes BUT for $2 more, you may also substitute for a specialty pancake. So, I substituted for the Banana Chocolate Chip Cakes. You should know that unless asked, ALL toppings remain on top of the pancakes. I, however, decided to put the chocolate chips inside the batter, and keep the bananas on top.
I must say, looking at this photo my mouth is watering again. From the second the plate was placed in front of me, the smell was overbearingly amazing. I was instantly tempted by this pungent scent of fresh bananas, warm chocolate chips, and homemade pancakes practically made by Aunt Jemima herself. Sure, the eggs and bacon were wonderful too; but these pancakes were just incredible.
The Banana Chocolate Chip Cakes were fluffy on top, yet soothingly crispy on the bottom. The chocolate chips appear as little dots in the pancakes, but instantly melt in your mouth within the first bite. When looking at this photo, you can see the morning glisten on the bananas atop of the cakes; as per my review from Blue Plate I explain how important this glisten is in determining the freshness of the fruit. Well, these bananas must have been collected directly from the banana tree - aka the local Saturday Farmer's Market on 3rd Street - before being placed on my pancakes. And finally, the end of the meal was not capped with the button of my jeans flying across the room; these pancakes were not greasy at all, and they don't cause you to faint upon completion. As I was smiling from ear to ear after the first bite, the Banana Chocolate Chip Cakes from Jinky's are a wonderful way to say "Good Morning, Sunshine." Jinky's Cafe is now officially my second restaurant with a 5 star rating. It should also be noted that Jinky's serves breakfast ALL DAY!

The first time I ever came out to California to visit my sister for college tours, she took me to this place on a whim and I have going back ever since! A menu full of choices is just part one of all that is good about this restaurant. Add on delicious pancakes, omelets to die for, and a very affordable price and this place clearly becomes a steal. Also, the service here is great and the atmosphere is quite enjoyable. The restaurant happens to be very close to the Santa Monica Boulevard so if you want to take a stroll around the area after eating, this place is perfect for that.
