Solid family Cafe off the 118 on Arboles.
Location shares a parking lot with Ciscos and a strip mall so there is plenty of shopping. We went on a Friday night and it was nearly empty, which was concerning. The prices were reasonable; perhaps $3-4 higher per plate than you'd expect from similar cafes.
The service was 3-4 stars. Not great, but not terrible. The food was good overall. I got a Chicken Parm Sandwich which was tasty. My son had a flat bread pepperoni pizza which was pretty large and tasted good. My wife had a grilled chicken sandwich. Overall, the food was fresh and well prepared. Drinks were refilled after a short delay, but we didn't have to chase after the waitress.
The restaurant has nice booths and large TV's to watch sports. Frankly was surprised it was so empty on a Friday night.
Overall, a nice cafe to grab a bite. Family of four cost $60 after tip. Bit high for a cafe, but not crazy expensive. 4 stars.

I had been wanting to try this place for awhile and finally did this evening. The menu is HUGE and they have all kinds of options for anyone with a different kind of diet. I had a vegan breakfast that consisted of wild rice, tofu, and veggies with a side of tater tots. I can't resist tater tots! It was great except a bit too spicy for my tastes... next time will request that they go easy on the spice. Actually, next time I'll be ordering some of those delicious pancakes. We sat at the counter, which is always my preferred spot in a diner. Our server was awesome... didn't catch his name but he was a very friendly young guy who was doing a fabulous job behind the counter. Can't wait to go back for pancakes!
REVIEWS 8/16/2014 **** Hannah M. Brentwood, CA Went here yesterday and LOVED IT!!! It was VERY crowded (Sunday at 11AM near the promenade in the summer so I was not surprised.) I was watching the hostess and this is an odd compliment but she did a VERY good job of making the most out of the tables she had vs the groups of people waiting. I can appreciate things like that. My order, Crab cake Eggs Benedict. The hollandaise was great!! It's the first thing I evaluate while eating the Bene. Perfect temperature, just enough lemon and salt, perfect consistency. AMAZING. The crab cake left something to be desired but I am not mad. I made crab cakes at home with my husband and it's VERY expensive to make good ones. First you have to double the crab they call for in the recipe then you absolutely need real high quality crab which you crack yourself. The ones I made cost me $45 all and all. So if I am eating a $12 dish and the cakes are ok. I know why. My side was tomatoes and they were good. I should also mention the crab cakes were pretty big, larger than the size of the muffin! The didn't skimp on sauce either, it was everywhere and I freakin LOVE THAT! My friend had the Sunrise scramble with feta added in. She orders it every time. I had a bite and I thought it was very good as well. Her side of wheat toast was a higher quality bread than you get at most places. The place is a bit loud but I love the art on the walls and our server was awesome! He took our entire order when he walked up. (We had time to think about it while waiting for a table.) Within maybe 7 minutes the food was out and we were eating! Very impressive. Not a single hitch at this place. Next time I am going to order the regular eggs Benedict. I think it's going to be amazing!

My favorite are the pancakes. what comes out of the kitchen is plentiful, actually too much for me, but not.... memorable. the tables were tiny and too close together for my comfort level. There aren't too many breakfast places in santa monica so this fills a niche, especially if you are in the area.
