Jinkys Studio Cafe is a hidden gem. If you're driving west on Ventura its easy to miss. Tucked away behind a used auto dealership, you'll not only find an extensive menu highlighting 5 specialty chilis that change daily, but also the most friendly and attentive staff - especially helpful when indulging in bottomless mimosas. Dominique the hostess was so incredibly nice and if you're lucky enough to get Laura as your server, trust me, you'll be well taken care of - Super sweet and very knowledgeable of the entire menu. We had such a great time here and can't wait to come back!!!!!

After now coming here countless times I had to Yelp review Jinkys, it being so close to my house in SC and in between my office off Ventura & Lankershim it has been my stopping point both happy hour and reverse happy hour.

This place is like that crazy new girl you've been dating. You've been on 2 dates, and she's in love with you already. Oh wait, I think I'm the girlfriend in this story. I've come here 2 days in a row...and I'm lovin' every minute of it.
Parking is a little tough, but hey -- they have a valet-free, parking fee-free lot, and they are on Ventura Blvd. No one offers that. It gets full at peak times, so you might be SOL and have to park on the street. Me, lucky lucky me...found a nice spot each time.
On a Sunday late breakfast hour, about a 20 minute wait for a patio seat. A nice large L-shaped patio, with plenty of umbrellas, and really nice weather. Yep, worthy of the wait. Inside, if you are less patient, a nice amount of seating (about 16 booths, and then in the bar area -- about 8 tables, and 6 bar stools). On a Monday afternoon at 1230pm arrival, surprisingly no problem at all for a table (or the aforementioned parking space). Note: the patio has a great vibe -- totally recommend.
But this is where the fun begins, and possibly, a fight with yourself. The menu weighs about 10 pounds and about 43,000 choices, highlighted by: 5 rotating chili's per day (a special insert menu has descriptions of their 15 chili types), salads, burgers, sandwiches, and breakfast served all day. Organic and plenty of veggie choices, too. Very impressive.
I've tried 2 things thus far:

The Veracruz Talapia ($15.99) -- AMAZING. Great sauce (chunky tomato/capers/onions/olives), and the fish was cooked to perfection. With 2 sides, I chose a double-portion of sauteed veggies. Nice! No need to exercise eating this healthy! Yay!
The Mexicali chili ($9.50) -- I liked a lot, BUT -- a decent portion in a shallow bowl, could have been larger for that price. I could've eaten a second bowl, but would have to sell a kidney to afford.
NEXT UP -- the "Hangover Burger": Applewood bacon, egg, cheddar cheese, arugula. It's been said that on occasion David Hasselhoff eats this. Enough said.

Always reliable for breakfast in the Valley. A little pricey for what you get, but then you have to pay up for quality. Especially in this town.

Cute place with very friendly servers. I had the Santa Fe Scramble and all I can say is WOW. Perfect balance of veggies, eggs and chorizo, with the very inventive and great addition of corn tortilla strips for a little crunch! I was skeptical about the pea guacamole since I'm not a huge fan of peas, but it was delicious and seasoned just right! I loved it so much I tried to go back the next day and the day after, but they had lost power. I am definitely going back for more as soon as I can!

Friendly staff, great service, family atmosphere and a menu listing something for every taste --- that is what you'll find at Jinky's Kanan Cafe. We walked in without a reservation from the Homewood Suites just down the street. The folks at Jinky's were accommodating and welcoming, seating us at an outdoor table with a nice view of the landscape below their patio and even outfitting us with an outdoor heater.
My husband --- who is a very picky eater --- really enjoyed the Mexicali Fajitas. I highly recommend the Salmon Tikka Masala! This is dining at opposite ends of the spectrum while sitting at the same table! I was not kidding before when I said it was possible to find something for every taste! Jinky's also offers a decent kids menu.
All-in-all a great experience!

I gave this place 5 stars, not for the food, but for the EXCELLENT service. I honestly wasn't feeling good the day I came here so I didn't order much and can't really comment on the food.
However, the SERVICE was AMAZING! My server knew I wasn't feeling good, and bent over backwards to accommodate my table and me. He kept coming by to check on us and see if we needed anything, and he offered some of the lighter choices on the menu so that I could have a small bite of something. My hubby ordered a sandwich and our friend ordered frittata, and both said their meal was delicious! Although I can't personally comment on the food, I will definitely bring business again! Thanks for the great service!
