Jinky's Cafe is a nice place for a semi-casual breakfast or brunch. They have some good, sometimes unusual, options for savory breakfast dishes--lots of stuff with chorizo/soyrizo, and some things with their homemade chili. All of those options are tasty but not amazing. Some of my favorite breakfast choices in the area, especially for the price. Many of their spicy dishes are served with their (famous?) pea guacamole. What's pea guacamole? It's mashed peas with a texture and flavor that, I guess, is somewhat reminiscent of real-life guacamole. This make-pretend variety is actually pretty good, but without the fat and subtle sweetness of avocado, it's just nowhere near as good with an omelette. KBT is a french toast enthusiast, and this is one of the few places that makes it up to her standard--not fancy, but light and well-executed. When she took a bite and said, "this is pretty good," I was shocked but happy. Their service can sometimes be a little slow. If you come in on a weekday, they'll probably have only one waitress working, so you won't see her much. It's not the end of the world, but it is a little annoying. Also, occasionally I've felt that the host/hostess was not very accommodating to what seemed like some pretty reasonable requests, and wasn't very polite about saying so. Again, not the end of the world, but not fantastic either.
