REVIEWS David m. 2/28/2012 ***** North Hollywood, CA I ran into Bruno Mars here at Jinky's Studio Cafe-the friendly waitress said he's a regular-that was pretty cool...........Let's Talk About Food, Baby! Santa Fe Scramble the pea guacamole is addictive like crack....The Flaky French Toast were fire. My Favorite was The California sandwich Sliced turkey breast, ortega chilies, mozzarella cheese, mushrooms and avocado on grilled sourdough bread-THEY SHOULD CALL IT THE- Orgasmic Sandwich. I need me a car 2 come more often.
REVIEWS Kate M. 1/24/2012 ***** Montréal, QC Cute place with very friendly servers. I had the Santa Fe Scramble and all I can say is WOW. Perfect balance of veggies, eggs and chorizo, with the very inventive and great addition of corn tortilla strips for a little crunch! I was skeptical about the pea guacamole since I'm not a huge fan of peas, but it was delicious and seasoned just right! I loved it so much I tried to go back the next day and the day after, but they had lost power. I am definitely going back for more as soon as I can!
REVIEWS Beth V. 1/17/2012 ***** Los Angeles, CA Jinky's is my favorite brunch in LA. ALWAYS worth braving the 3rd Street Promenade mess on the weekends. You can almost always find parking in one of the garages on 2nd street, even on a busy day. As for the restaurant, there may be a slight wait, but it's never been outrageous for me. Just remember, they won't sit incomplete parties! I love Jinky's Favorite omelet, and ANY of the Mexican breakfast items (breakfast quesadila!). Their breakfast potatos are always awesome, and I love their chilis (you can ask for a sample too). I've also thoroughly enjoyed all of the lunch items I have tried. Basically, I would eat here every day if I could. Definitely try it!
Friendly staff, great service, family atmosphere and a menu listing something for every taste --- that is what you'll find at Jinky's Kanan Cafe. We walked in without a reservation from the Homewood Suites just down the street. The folks at Jinky's were accommodating and welcoming, seating us at an outdoor table with a nice view of the landscape below their patio and even outfitting us with an outdoor heater.
My husband --- who is a very picky eater --- really enjoyed the Mexicali Fajitas. I highly recommend the Salmon Tikka Masala! This is dining at opposite ends of the spectrum while sitting at the same table! I was not kidding before when I said it was possible to find something for every taste! Jinky's also offers a decent kids menu.
All-in-all a great experience!
REVIEWS Frances B. 1/10/2012 ***** San Francisco, CA I gave this place 5 stars, not for the food, but for the EXCELLENT service. I honestly wasn't feeling good the day I came here so I didn't order much and can't really comment on the food.
However, the SERVICE was AMAZING! My server knew I wasn't feeling good, and bent over backwards to accommodate my table and me. He kept coming by to check on us and see if we needed anything, and he offered some of the lighter choices on the menu so that I could have a small bite of something. My hubby ordered a sandwich and our friend ordered frittata, and both said their meal was delicious! Although I can't personally comment on the food, I will definitely bring business again! Thanks for the great service!
REVIEWS Lisa J. 12/11/2011 **** Van Nuys, CA Fantastic! Great food, good service, wide variety What more could you ask for? Added bonus: they have a few Quinoa dishes on the menu. Quinoa is great for breast feeding mamas (helps with the supply) and has many health benefits in general. It's not something you see at restaurants too often though.
REVIEWS L H. 11/27/2011 **** Oak Park, CA Tasty. Fresh ingredients. Fast friendly service. Manager stopped by to see that we were enjoying our lunch. Large menu selection. Nice decor indoors. Clean. I will go again
REVIEWS Adam A. 11/23/2011 ***** Toluca Lake, CA This is one of my favorite places to have breakfast. The omelets are large and the pumpkin pancakes are delicious. I usually sit at the counter and get a polite, friendly and tall red-headed server. You get served a thermos of hot coffee so you can refill yourself for only $2.75. I like this because no one goes around refilling my cup and changing the mixture of cream and sugar I have already prepared. The food always comes out quick. The food runner is always amiable and helpful. The busboy always comes over to say hello. These guys are always nice. I recommend it to anyone looking for a pleasant and comfortable place to get breakfast in the area.
REVIEWS 9/6/2011 ***** Kasia K. Pleasanton, CA First time I ever came here was with my fiance's family (a regular place for them!) and I wasn't sure what to expect... but wow! Deeeeelicious. Any place where there is a 4 page breakfast menu is a good place in my book. They have so many different choices for food it's almost a little overwhelming! Tons of different choices of pancakes (red velvet!) ommeletes and sandwhiches, as well as dinner items. I usually go for the California melt with is some meat, avocado, mushrooms and cheese all on some garlic flavored bread and upgrade to seasoned fries. So so so so good! Just writing this review makes me want to drive down to SoCal from NorCal to endulge. Service was great everytime we've gone to this location (Santa Monica location was a little lacking) and I will abolutely make a breakfast/lunch stop here next time I'm in the area.
REVIEWS 9/6/2011 **** Mark O. I frequent Jinky's once per week primarily for breakfast. I always sit at the bar; even on a busy day there is always at least one seat. I have watched the servers from time to time. There seems to be mild chaos most busy days. This is due to the confined pathways through the restaurant primarily. There is usually a large number of servers per capita in the restaurant. Unlike others, if I really need something then the nearest server will suffice. I have tried various breakfast combinations, all of which were 4/5. Hard to come up with anything novel or innovative for breakfast. But in all the food there is much better than IHOP or Denny's. My food is always served quickly (fast cooks and dedicated food servers). though larger groups may experience a longer wait. Jinky's is very popular. Avoid the rush and enjoy this restaurant at off-peak hours for quality service.
REVIEWS 3/4/2011 ***** Alex B. Sherman Oaks, CA * Always a fan of Jinky's. A bit different vibe than the other places- but I think it adds some character. Food is good, service is friendly, right in Studio City.Love it.
